an old friend had an idea for a podcast telling tall tales about rock stars. “You should make it a podcast about true crime and rock ‘n roll,” I suggested, and helped him write the pilot. Today, Disgraceland is the most-downloaded music podcast in the world. In 2020, that old friend—Jake Brennan—signed an exclusive deal with Amazon Music to become an Amazon Original, and I joined as Executive Producer of Disgraceland Productions, overseeing day-to-day management, content, marketing, and strategy. Together, we launched an unscripted Disgraceland series called “After Party,” and two spinoff podcasts, “Hollywoodland” and “Sportsland,” under a new feed called “Badlands.” In 2021, Badlands hit #1 on the Apple Podcasts History charts, and we merged Disgraceland Productions with Double Elvis Productions, home to our wider slate of music and true crime podcasts.
